Just because we use the term “my woman” doesn’t mean we think of you as a possession of some kind, that we own you or that we think of you as less or anything. Forget all those things.
When we tell you that we want to be the provider and protector of our little family (which may only be the two of us so far) it doesn’t mean we dislike or discourage the independent woman that you most likely are. That is wrong too.
It’s just another way of telling you that we love you and want to be a good man to you. If you ever think a man doing these things, calling you his woman, is being inconsiderate you got it all wrong. He just wants to make sure that he’s good enough for you. Unless you tell him what a real man is to you, he’ll go for the stereotype.
